Affiliate links are special, coded links that contain tracking information. Chances are, you have clicked on MANY affiliate links during your lifetime, and didn’t even know! Let me explain how it works: websites can “sign up” to be affiliates with companies. Amazon is a popular one with bloggers like us. Some others are Target and Walmart. By signing up as an affiliate with these companies, we get these special links containing tracking information and cookies that we can then insert right into our posts.
When you click on an affiliate link, and then decide to purchase a product from that company, the website that “referred” you to that product gets a small commission at no addition cost to you. For example, if we shared an Amazon link to a massage oil that we just love, and you decide to click on that link and purchase that massage oil, we (Kissing Often) would get a commission paid by Amazon. If you decided to purchase some other products at that time, we would also get commission on those products as well. But the beauty is that the price stays the same for you! (Meaning if the product is $5.99, you will still only pay $5.99). Basically this is Amazon’s way of compensating us for bringing business to their site! This is an awesome and easy way for you to support us, and we thank you in advance for doing so! If you have any further questions on affiliate links, how they work, or our favorite affiliate programs we are partners with, please feel free to contact us at email@example.com.
As per Amazon’s Associate Requirements, here is our Amazon Affiliate Disclosure (AKA: More legal-speak).
“Kissing Often” is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.
